Canterbury Innovation Centre is situated in a wonderful piece of parkland on the University campus. Using the plan of the site, we created a radiating set of lines that templates directly on the building’s layout. Radiating over the city centre below, the logo’s lines resemble the idea of a wireless signal symbol. We reflected the brand colours in the unit blinds, wall art, wall colours and furniture.

Nebulo Strata was invited to be part of the design team to work on the development and promotion of a new centre for creative business in North Kent. The Joiners Shop, a multi-partner project between Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust, SEEDA and Basepoint Developments required the full gamut of our studio’s skills. As part of the project we designed a brand that is sympathetic to the Dockyard’s history. Keeping the name of the building’s original function, the typographic logo was extracted from direct observation of historic elements within the dockyard itself. A supporting pattern element was developed from the wonderful cast iron bracketing inside the building.
